ABOUT US
Rock and Wrap It Up! is a national think tank working to reduce poverty. Using greening tactics, we recover food and other assets to be given to agencies fighting poverty, increasing their operating budgets. This allows the agencies to hire more services such as tutors, social workers, job placement counselors and mental health counselors to attack the root cause of poverty.
Rock and Wrap It Up! recovers food and other assets in Sports, Music, Schools, Film, T.V. and Hotels. In 2008, The Federal Food Donation Act was written and passed with Rock and Wrap it Up!'s help. The Law encourages all federal buildings to donate food in their cities to feed the poor and keep it out of land fill.
Current Projects & Initiatives
- The FEDERAL FOOD DONATION ACT of 2008 encourages all federal building to donate food to agencies fighting poverty, written by ROCK AND WRAP IT UP!
- The ROCK AND WRAP IT UP! COLLEGE WRAP! recovers assets from graduates (dorm and apt. items) for agencies fighting poverty
- ROCK AND WRAP IT UP! offers a nation-wide directory of green collar job training programs and assists in the placement of agency clients
- ROCK AND WRAP IT UP! works with major hotel chains to recover food, paper products and toiletries to reduce anti-poverty agency cash outlays
- ROCK AND WRAP IT UP! works with over 150 touring bands to recover their food at concerts
- ROCK AND WRAP IT UP! works with 31 sports franchises to recovery all concession, luxury box and/or clubhouse food to feed the poor (every NY team is a partner)
- ROCK AND WRAP IT UP! SCHOOL PROGRAMS recovers food prepared but not served or sold from over 200 elementary, middle and high schools and snacks to feed the hungry
- ROCK AND WRAP IT UP! It's a Wrap! Program recovers craft services food from film shoots nation-wide
- ROCK AND WRAP IT UP! partners with nation anti-hunger, anti-poverty agencies like the US. E.P.A., Feeding America, and Rainbow Push Coalition
- ROCK AND WRAP IT UP! developed the Teach Green! Project which encourages Colleges and Universities to donate seats in unfilled green certification classes
